Poland: Proem Kontact Youth Camp
Proem is a non-profit Polish Christian mission working for the benefit of young people. The headquarters is in Warsaw with daily operations in the Christian Youth Center in Zakosciele. Proem Ministries has existed in Poland since 1990 and is based on the teaching of the Bible and Christian ethics, while working together with Polish churches as well as churches from other countries. Proem has organized summer and winter camps for children and youth from differing social classes and churches for over 20 years. Proem promotes recreation and relaxation that joins sports and games, along with Biblical teaching and spiritual growth.
This summer, Mount Pleasant is privileged to partner with Proem at Camp Kontact as together we welcome kids from Eastern Ukraine. These children are referred to as “warzone kids” and they range in age from 7-12. They have lived in terrible ongoing crisis. While at camp they will experience the simple pleasures of being outdoors, having cookouts, hanging out by the bonfire making s’mores, laughing, joking and just having a good time. What an opportunity we have to be Christ to those who have yet to know who He is. We will also be sending a team to help Proem with community outreach in Piotrkow by helping with service projects and visiting local schools. We will also begin working together with Proem to establish a church plant.
